How Ozcarpool works

With so many cars on the road every morning and night, there’s a good chance that someone living close to you travels an almost identical route  to and from work, school or university. By registering your details with Ozcarpool you will be matched with others who travel a similar route as yourself.

When there is a match you will be emailed a notification message, allowing you to contact the person matching your criteria via email. You can then contact any potential carpoolers by using your website username. Once you have found a suitable person you can then set up your own carpool. It doesn't have to be limited to just one other person, you can have as many people as you can fit into your car.

Initially, you only need to give your first name to the person you are in contact with while you work out travel details.

Once you have found a suitable person it is up to you to exchange phone numbers, establish ground rules and work out pick-up places and times.

You can also nominate your place of work as your destination instead of the suburb you wish to go.(eg. Ford factory, Broadmeadows). Look for your business or university name on our database. If it isn't there and you think it should be please let us know and we will add it for you.
